The pros and cons of smartlipo

SmartLipo has revolutionized the way one can get rid of the excess fat from the body. It is buzzword in the field of cosmetic procedures these days. It is being widely performed most of the parts of the world. The procedure basically involves liquefying the fat in localized pockets of excess fat. It is far better than the conventional liposuction procedure.

Pros

The various advantages of SmartLipo over other methods of getting rid of excess fat are:

"The procedure is done under local anesthesia. Hence the complications are very minimal. The patient is also conscious during the procedure. The recovery from the effects of anesthesia is also very fast

"In SmartLipo the laser probe is introduced through a very minute incision of about 1mm - 2mm on the skin. The incision is so small that there is no need for sutures to close it at the end of the procedure. Since the incision is very small, it heals without producing any ugly scar.

"There is no manual operation or to and fro movement of the probe in SmartLipo unlike the conventional liposuction procedure. This minimizes and even avoids the tissue damage which is seen in the conventional type.

"The laser in SmartLipo causes coagulation of the surrounding tissue. This prevents any bleeding from the treatment site.

"Collagen deposition and tightening of the skin occurs at the treatment site in patients who undergo SmartLipo procedure. This prevents the formation of loose skin folds which generally happens in the conventional liposuction.

"Candidates who undergo SmartLipo can return to work after 2-3 days. They will not feel any discomfort because of the procedure. This is unlike the conventional liposuction in which the candidates feel a little sick which needs rest for about 7-10 days.

"Compared with other cosmetic procedures which are done to reduce excess fat, SmartLipo is relatively cheaper in cost.

"SmartLipo is approved by FDA

Cons

There are only a very few disadvantages of SmartLipo. These disadvantages are not much of a great concern for both the candidates undergoing the procedure and the doctor performing it. The disadvantages include-

"The procedure is meant to remove only a lesser quantity of fat. Usually the doctor removes up to 500 ml of fat or about 8 pounds

"The procedure is usually done in localized pockets of fat like below the chin, inner and outer aspects of thigh etc

"The cost is high and many persons who wish to undergo this procedure may not be able to afford it. The various centers across the United States charge between $2000 and $6000 for one session of SmartLipo which is quite high.

"SmartLipo is not covered by insurance. Insurance generally do not cover cosmetic procedures and SmartLipo is not covered by it since it is a cosmetic procedure.

Diet plans are meals snacks and water

Almost all women have been on a diet sometime in their life; I know I have. Men diet also, but not as many men diet as women. It is hard to decide which diet plan to suffer through. The first question is, which one will work for you and how hard do you have to work to make it work? Basically most of us are lazy when it comes to losing weight and we want the fastest and easiest diet plan we can find.

Sticking to a diet is hard to do. On most 'normal' diets you won't get hungry. By normal I mean you eat 3 meals a day with a couple of snacks during the day and you have to drink tons of water, that is what really fills you up. You may slush around all day but you won't get hungry.

There are many diet plans. There are the 300 pages or more diet books and there are the diet groups that meet at least once a week. Then there are some that will have meals delivered right to your door. The basic plan in these diets is each day eat 3 healthy meals, have a couple of snacks, and drink lots of water. Next you have the diet pills that come with a diet plan, 3 meals, a couple of snacks, and lots of water, plus a pill or 2 each day.

Let us not forget the fad diets, the cabbage soup diet, the boiled egg diet, the grapefruit diet, just to name a few. These diets don't last long, you either give up or pass out. Oh yeah, you do lose weight with these diets, but you also gain it back in a hurry, plus some.

So if you are thinking about starting a diet plan, choose carefully. Frankly in my opinion, one of the ones that meets once a week is the best. You get the support of all the rest of the group, you get to meet new people, and you get some new ideas for meals. These kinds of diets teach you how to live with a food plan, not a diet, but a way of life.

So until you decide which diet plan you think you can best follow, try to eat 3 healthy meals, a couple of snacks, and drink a lot of water each day. By the time you figure out which diet you want to tackle, maybe you will of lost the weight and won't even need a 'diet', because you will of found a 'diet' on your own, except you now call it a food plan for life.

Weight loss myths and corresponding facts

:
The myths about weight loss are making rounds everywhere and they never cease to end, as the people are very much concerned and are in the look out for easy way to lose weight, hence lots of wrong theories going around. Listed Below are some weight loss myths along with corresponding facts.

Myths Pertaining to Physical Exercises:

Myth: Exercise when done on an empty stomach results in more fat burn out.

Fact: The weight loss is said to be effective when the calories consumed are burned the same day no matter, how they are burned. Hence the impact of exercising with an empty stomach is the same as with a full stomach. Studies have revealed that the increase in metabolism seen in anaerobic exercise is reduced after a full meal. It means that more energy is used for digestion than to repair muscles.

Myth: The more the exercise the more the benefit.

Fact: It is not true. Even though every exercise session is good for an individual, there is a required level and frequency to get optimum results. After the optimum level, the exercise done will have an opposite effect by not allowing the body to cope up with the stress created by the exercise, which can be actually detrimental towards weight loss.

Myth: Muscle turns into fat once the exercise is stopped.

Fact: It is not true. Muscles, as a matter of fact, cannot be converted into fat as they are entirely different kinds of tissues. When the exercise is stopped, the muscles shrink but do not disappear. If the calorie intake is more, which is not burned it actually deposits as fat.

Myth: More the Sweat, More the hard work is done.

Fact: This too is not true, as sweating is the body’s cooling ability. Sweat can be due to lot of factors like body temperature, type of exercise done, fat deposition of the body, room temperature, the kind of clothing used for exercise, and the intensity of exercise done.

Myth: Drinking water while exercising might lead to cramps.

Fact: If more litres of ice cold water are drunk in one go while doing exercise may result in cramps. Hence, it is good to drink water consistently before, during and after exercises in order to replace the fluid lost and to avoid any discomfort being caused.

Myth: Exercise done to tone the abdominal muscles also tones potbelly.

Fact: When exercise is done for the abdominal region only that region gets toned up. The fat deposits are not burned, reducing the potbelly. Fat reduction happens uniformly throughout the body and there is no possibility for spot reduction.
